Synopsis

In the beginning, there was only silence — and then God spoke. In six days, the creating voice transformed nothing into everything: light and darkness, skies and seas, plants and animals, and finally the human being, made in the image of God himself. Each day ends with the same simple, certain affirmation: "It was good."

The Creation of the World is the story at the origin of all other stories. Before Noah and the Ark, before Moses and the Red Sea, before any biblical hero, God created a good world and entrusted it to human care. This is the starting point: that we are loved before doing anything, that we are caretakers of something greater than ourselves, and that all beauty has an origin.

In the OwLira book, The Creation of the World is told in five illustrated chapters, with the owl mascot guiding each teaching pause. Young children discover that the world was made with care and that caring for the world — for the plants, the animals, the people — is also a way of honoring the one who created it.
