Synopsis
Elijah was the prophet who confronted King Ahab at a time when Israel had abandoned the true God to worship Baal. On Mount Carmel, Elijah proposed a challenge: that each side build an altar and ask its god to light the fire. The prophets of Baal cried out all day long, and nothing happened. Elijah prayed once, and fire came down from heaven.
