Synopsis

Esther was a young Jewish woman raised by her cousin Mordecai in the kingdom of Persia. When King Ahasuerus chose a new queen, Esther was selected — but no one in the palace knew she was Jewish. Meanwhile, the minister Haman was plotting the destruction of all the Jews in the empire. Mordecai asked Esther to intercede for her people before the king, even knowing the risk: anyone who approached the king without an invitation could be put to death.

"Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" Mordecai's question changed everything. Esther asked the people to fast for her, and then she courageously went before the king. Her boldness saved an entire nation.

In the OwLira book, Esther — The Courageous Queen is told in five illustrated chapters, with the owl mascot accompanying each teaching pause. Children learn that every person is where they are for a purpose, and that courage often begins with a simple "I will try."
