Synopsis

Joseph was Jacob's favorite son, and the colorful coat his father gave him was more than a garment — it was a symbol of preferential love that kindled his brothers' hatred. Sold as a slave, taken to Egypt, unjustly imprisoned, forgotten by the one who promised to help him: Joseph had more than enough reasons to grow bitter. But in every fall, he found a way to start over without losing his integrity.

When Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret, Joseph was called from prison to the palace. His skill was not magic — it was wisdom, and wisdom that came from God. He became the second most powerful man in Egypt and, years later, was reunited with the brothers who had sold him. The scene of forgiveness is one of the most moving in the entire Bible: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good."

In the OwLira book, Joseph of Egypt is told in five illustrated chapters, with the owl mascot accompanying each teaching pause. The child learns that forgiveness is not weakness, and that God can transform the most painful stories into the most beautiful ones.
